so since i can't render the whole scene with freestyle (will freeze/take infinity to ender if the scene is a certain level of complicated), i split up the ceiling the character and the rest and composited it in kdenlive. it still took way to freaking long.

comp specs are: 8gb Ram 3.06 Core2Duo CPU and Quadro 3800 graphics card.

not earth shatteringly good, but definitely not a bad setup either

anyways here's a freestyle test (animation isn't done, and don't mind that the rooms aren't connected)

you can see all the weird lines that are happening. i'm hoping it will be fixed in the next couple months. so the maint problems i'm having with freestyle.

1. weird lines because some lines won't end as they should, but T.K. (dev) is aware of this.
2. no intersection lines - not the hugest problem, i can get around it
3. it's not fast or efficient. it doesn't handle whole scenes well even with an okay setup. This is the bigest problem right now. the weird lines.. yeah sure they suck, but they won't stop me from getting done, and at least they kind of give it that old film scratch effect. the slowness cpu hungryness of it is really stopping me from working at a good pace.

or i wish somebody would hack some extra control over blender's regular edges system, which is super fast and predictable, plus it supports edge intersection.

freestyle will benefit me mainly when doing line effects like for instance in this scene i'll be animating the lines to squiggle to the beat.
